You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine, and I'll tell you why.

Work went by quickly today. I got out at 12pm and went to the beach with Lizzie, Sam, CJ, Jeff, Mika, Natalie, and Sammy B.

It was so much fun even though it wasn’t the best of beach days. We played Frisbee, went swimming and drank some beers. It was a good time hanging out with great people.

For some reason I was agitated after work and on the way to beach. I guess it was a combination of my own forgetfulness as well as timing. I just get frustaited for no reason sometimes and it was stupid.

Luckily that all passed by the end of the day.

We left the beach when it started to rain. Weirdly enough it was the sunniest of the entire day as it began to rain. Go figure.

We stopped to get ice cream at a local store. I bought CJ’s and my own and the total came to $4.75. at first I thought it was a cheap place, but then I found out that we got a deal. CJ got a gummy bear waffle cone full of ice cream and I got a small ice cream that was definitely a large. Plus she put jimmies on the top and bottom of my ice cream. It was great.

I think the ice cream scooper either had a crush on me (As CJ and others were convinced) or she felt bad because I was wearing no shoes or pants. She probably thought I was a dirty hippy. haha. Who knows.

On the drive home CJ and I “ate a sandwich”. It began to downpour! I could barely see out my windshield but I loved it. Normally I would have been tensly holding the wheel in the same storm, but I was feeling great. CJ rolled down the window and let the rain pour in. Life is great.

It was one of those moments that I just felt so alive. Rain and storms can do that to me. I guess its the feeling of having no control over the situation. Driving through the mess was awesome.

See? It all works out in the end.

we cut the legs off of our pants threw our shoes into the ocean sit back and wave through the daylight sit back and wave through the daylight

Im just so so tired.
Working is taking a toll on me. I think eventually I will get used to waking up so early for work, but who knows…
I mean honestly, I have been waking up for classes and work for years now. Why hasn’t my body gotten used to it yet?

The weirdest part is that I am always wide awake at like 10pm. I’m ready to go! And I can’t get to sleep until like 2 or 3 in the morning. Thus the cycle continues.

Maybe that why Im a good Journalism major… I am able to pull all nighters at any given time. Which as my April depicted, happens quite often.

Tomorrow Lizzie, Sam, and I are going to the beach after I get out of work. It should be a blasty blast. ☺ Hopefully some of CJ’s friends can come as well. ☺

I love this song....

Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting thorough my open mind possessing and caressing me

So tonight I got off work and I went hoMe to an empty house. My parents went up to York for the weekend. So I went shopping and got some cute shirts at Forever 21.

While in the store, I saw this bitchy prostatot go around the store picking up shirts laughing at them and then throwing them on the floor. I couldn't believe it. How could you ever do that? Who does she think she is?

At the time I was talking to Sara Reney. Our texting went like this…
I explained the situation and She replied
S: I hate when people do that. There is no need to make a mess.
L: Ya this is why I believe in Karma. There just has to be some consequence.
S: They go to a place where everyone ignores them when they die.

I couldn’t believe sara said that. I died.

So then I went home and began drinking. I don’t know why. Drinking by yourself is not a good idea. But I drank…a lot. And of course, to add onto my brilliance, I cooked while I drank the rum, blasting Cake all the while.
I texted because that’s what you do when you are drunk right?

Well I don’t remember much of the night except that I watched beerfest and drank about 3 shots too much.

Poor CJ came at the worst part of my night and dealt with the aftermath of my actions.

Do you ever wonder why you do things?
I wonder a lot. I don’t know why I do anything to be honest. But I like to believe that I make the choices that I find to be right at that given time. Consequences suck sometimes but I think that the consequences I bring upon myself are supposed to happen to me.

The universe works in mysterious ways.

It's my grammie sweetie's birthday today. I am forever thankful for the influence she had on my life. I still miss her all the time. RIP

Live in the moment

ok well you have probably been waiting for ridiculous things to happen to me so...
Yesterday I worked 8am-3pm and was exhausted beyond my wildest imaginations, but I decided that I wanted to go to York Beach. So I got out and called CJ and we began our trip.

I had the original goal of surfing, but I got too lazy. haha Go me...

So anyways on the trip up we were driving on a street in North Reading when we saw a truck backing up toward us. I stopped and gave him room. The guy ended up getting out of his car to help a HUGH snapping turtle cross the road. It was so funny. The turtle wouldn't move so the guy ended up having to pick up its hind legs and "Wheelbarrow" the turtle to the other side. It was ridiculous and funny.

So then we got up to york and decided to walk downtown. They were combing the beach at short sands and it was nice out so we decided to walk to Long Sands.

At the end of the beach we jumped around on rocks trying to find sea life but failed miserably. The tide moved in quickly and we saved our flip flops by minutes. I almost lost my phone. Not that it would be a big deal considering it has been taped up since pday.
Ohh pday… we wont go there.
Rain moved in extremely fast so we walked to the nearest corner store to get sandwiches. The guy needed one dollar bills so I paid entirely in ones and then some. I gave the guy $30 in ones and he definitely thought I was a stripper. Of course I didn’t help the situation by explaining that the ones were “tips from my job.” Haha

The rest of the night was filled with rum and coke while we watched transformers and ate our sandwiches. Yummm The night was great. It’s nice to get away from Mass sometimes. We left late that night because I had to work at 7am but we stopped by Kerry’s first.

It felt good to hug her. I miss that girl so much.

Alright well that’s it

And in the freefall I will realize I'm better off when I hit the bottom

The title of this blog is from on of my new favorite songs. Its Paramore's "turn it off". I really really really like the acoustic version and I hope to do a version myself one day, with a couple guitars and harmonies. OR even for the bellas. The chorus would have three girls bealting out in different harmonies and I think it would sound really cool.

Plus the bridge would sound really good. (The repeating "Again" part)

I don't really have anything amazing to talk about today. My life has become so boring lately. Its on repeat. wake up early, work 8 hours, become really spacey and tired the entire day, fail to fall asleep until really late. and repeat. Its a horrible horrible schedule to be a part of. But its life.

My days are blurring together, and that's not good.

Working my life away

I haven't written in a while. This always happens with my blogs.
But it's all good because I am updating now.

So to wrap up my past week, I have been working and working and working.
Yes, contrary to what I wanted, Starbucks is starting to take over my life. But in a way, its good
For one thing, Im not at home being bored and slacking off.
And second, I'm making money for my travels abroad.

I guess its ok. Im working about 30-35 hours at least a week. wowee wow wow.

Other than working, I have been hanging out with CJ and his friends. They are great people. It's always a blast with them.
Last night we played kickball and my team kicked ass. We called ourselves the "Wootits" haha who knows. But it was fun. I played barefoot and now my the top of my rightfoot and shin are bruised from the kickball. At least I kicked it far and got a lot of RBIs :)

Summer is amazing. I just love being barefoot and hanging out outside until late at night. Its so nice.

After, we went got some drinks and hung out at Sammy B's and Verrico's. Harpoon UFO is amazing. I finished the six pack even though I probably shouldn't have. It was so so yummmy. I may get more by the end of the weekend. haha.

Sammy B, Jeff, CJ, and I had a long heart to heart on the porch. Sometimes i feel like we can solve all of worlds problems while having these heart to hearts. I guess its a matter of trying to remember what we figure out that matters. I can never seem to remember. haha.

I have often thought of writing a drunk journal. Good idea? I have no clue. It would probably end up being filled with emotional entries and un-readable handwriting. haha we will see what comes from it.

Alright well mom just made me a grilled cheese. yummmm

A face without freckles is like a sky without the stars.

I was Extremely tired all day today.
I guess I'll start with yesterday.

So Corey came to my house at about 12pm yesterday. He met my fat cat...Spooks and got a tour of my house. :) Then we drove to Carver to visit Kendal. It was an amazingly fun trip. We sang the entire way down and my throat is still sore from it.

While there we hung out with Kendal and went on a hike. So much fun. I wish I had not worn jeans, but that's how we live and learn. So after our hike we went into Plymouth and at at a delicious italian restaurant. :) yummmm and we spit on Plymouth rock. Cause apparently its good luck to do so.

Overall it was a fun and exciting day, but god did it wipe me out. I got home at about 9 and watched the Bruins lose. Lets not talk about it.

I was going to go into Boston but I was so tired I decided to go to bed instead.

Then I got a call from Ceej. Soon as I knew it, I was on my way to Reading to pick him up and go to Sammy B's graduation party. Such a fun time. I have missed everyone so much and I'm so glad that we were able to see everyone last night. The only bad thing was that I was extremely tired, so I spent most of the tie trying to rally some energy.

We were there until about 3am. We sat around and talked and it was a fun time.

After, CJ and I ate a sandwich. (HIMYM reference.) Fun times. Its a great way to end a night.

We drove to Reading and I fell alseep next to CJ. <3

At 7am we were up, and we unpacked his car. He is officially home for the summer. I am so happy. Then he went to meet up with his Rugby team and I went home to fall asleep until noon.

TODAY
So After my nap, I drove with my mom to the office where Erica and Aliza were having a Yard Sale. I cleaned the office and we hung out with them for a little while. I love family. It's always a good time with them. Aliza and I bonded and briefly talked about life, which is always nice. I feel so blessed to have people who care about me in my life. :)

Then mom and I went up to Salem NH to get baby gifts, but they were out of stock on everything. So we drove home shortly after.

I was extremely tired and spacey all day and really didn't talk much.

Kiersten and I went on a walk around the Wakefield lake tonight and then drove around for two hours. I love that girl. We just talked about everything in life from our past to our future. Fun times.

Summer is definitely beginning. more and more people are arriving home. I can't wait to hang out and catch up with people. :)

Alright well I'm very tired so I'm going to go to sleep.

Goodnight moon!

The sunshine warms me from within

There is nothing like sitting outside in the summer. In my back yard, I just sit and watch the world go by as I listen to the birds chirping. I love having nothing to do. It's great.

I worked today. As weird as it is, I went in to talk to my new boss yesterday and he told me he needed help, so I showed up at 8am this morning. I think this place will be a great change. Its relaxing and laid back but everyone knows what they are doing.

I have 30 hours next week. I guess I wont have as much free time soon. But I did manage to take off Thursday afternoons, Fridays, and Saturdays. :) As I promised myself before, Sbux will NOT become my life this summer.

I began reading The Tipping Point today. I love it so far. I think trends and social behaviors are just fascinating. Yup... I'm a true journalism major.

Nothing amazing has happened over the last couple of days. I promise my summer will be exciting soon. I think this weekend shows a lot of promise.

I'm seeing some SMC buddies tomorrow and Sunday and I cannot wait!

Alright well I'm going to go and hang out outside and read. Ohhh summer... how i <3 thee.

He's going the distance, he's going for speed...

So I just got back from my first of many runs this summer.

Tom made a bet with me over this past semester. If I run a half marathon, he will not cut his hair until I go abroad. (in January) Of course I agreed. My goal is to run it one of the first weekends in September so he has to grow his hair for the longest.

13.1 miles is a lot, but I think I can do it. The first step is to get into shape and to get my body used to running. I ran two miles today at my usual fast pace and my body did NOT like it haha. I haven't run in a while and I haven't done the healthiest of activities. so...

But I'll get in shape in no time. Plus, I think once you get past a certain amount, all the miles feel the same.

Anyways, last night CJ and I turned in cans and bottles. $10.15! woop woop. This was one of the best ideas we have ever had. Our adventure fund is beginning to gain some serious weight. :)

Then we watched the Bruins game. Gahhh. Don't even get me started. All I can say is that they better at least show up mentally at the next game. So frustrating.

We ate pizza and drank some beers and had a good time and ended up back at Salem for the night.

So far this summer has been relaxing. I like it.

Hanging out with the girlies tonight! :) Can't wait.

Well that's it for today.

Its an angel!

So yesterday was Mother's Day. I love my mom but I don't really get the point of the holiday. But Whatever, its a great excuse to hang out with family. :)

Kendal and Corey and others quote this all the time. So funny.

God I miss them so much and its been like 3 days! I'm hopeless.

I spent most of the day with the family and then met up with CJ. He was really tired from his Montreal trip so we hung around in his dorm for the night. It's so nice to finally be home. I look forward to the couple of months a year where I don't have a long distance relationship. Its nice.

My goal for today and tomorrow is to get transferred into a Starbucks near home. I would go back to the original one in Reading, but that store has really gone downhill. Everyone is just so upset and no one seems to like it anymore. It makes me sad becasue I remember how it used to be.

But change is good. I'm looking at either the one on 28 Main in Reading or the one in North Andover near Merrimack. Hopefully they want me.

Currently Im sitting in the Staff Office at Salem State while CJ signs people out. Blehhhh. But one more hour and we can leave!

I'm ready for summer to begin. I want something fun to happen tonight. I guess we will see how it goes. :)

Alright that's all for now.

First day of summer

Last night was pretty uneventful. I saw CJ briefly before he left for montreal and I spent the rest of my night watching the Bruins with my parents.

Tonight was a blast. Kier and I met up with Lizzie and Sam at Ipswitch River Park. Alliance was puttign on a concert and two of Sam's friends were playing. Amazing! They were so talented and they were such great people. I'm glad she has made such great friends.

Check out their myspaces!

Hanging out with them was a blast. I love Kier Sam and Lizzie. They are truly amazing people.

Well before the concert I was cleaning my room when I found my old clarinet. I actually remembered how to play it. I can't believe it. haha.

I think I'm going to try to regain some skills on the clarinet while getting better at the piano as well. God Music.. I just can't get enough of it. I want to learn everything.

Ok new goal of summer...
11. Gain piano skills and just be more musical. haha who knows what I'm talking about right now. But ya. Music!

Alright well I'm still extremely tired from this past month so... Bed time!

Back to Massachusetts

I'm leaving Vermont today. Sadness.

I absolutely love it up here. I want to live here eventually. It just makes me so happy.

And Saint Mikes... There were so many times in these past two years that I thought I was in the wrong place... I thought I had chosen the wrong school.

This past fall semester was the worst time of my life. I was extremely unhappy and busy. But it led me to the right path in life. I seriously believe that everything happens for a reason. I needed to have that horrible semester to realize what I really wanted from life.

This spring semester I quit volleyball and began the Aca Bellas with Liz. It was the best decision of my life.

Plus my roommates and friends are amazing. Fate put me in this suite and I can't be thankful enough. They have seen me in all of my crazy moods yet they still love me and inspire me to be myself. They are amazing girls and I truly had a blast this past semester.

And everyone else I hung out with...you made life so interesting and funny and I'm so glad that I got to experience it all with you.

This is the first time I don't want to leave for vacation. It feels so weird. In the past I was always the first person to leave when my finals are done because I never felt home here.

But today, I don't want to leave. I don't want to go home. Right now, this is my home.

But I must.
and I must continue packing.

See you in North Reading!

Summer 2010

Summer is here! I finished my final exam today...Global Comm. SO glad that its over.
Now its onto summer. :)

As I handed in my final to Hyde, he asked me what my plans were for the summer. I realized that at that moment I had none. How boring right? I plan on working my way through summer basically.

Its sad. I need to live it up. Every year I start off the summer saying "This will be the best summer ever!", yet it never turns out that way.

So lets set some goals.
  1. Work and make money but don't let Sbux be my life.
  2. Surf at least 30 days this summer.
  3. Take pictures.
  4. Hang out with friends.
  5. Do something out of the ordinary.
  6. Write songs and make a CD of some sort.
  7. Clean my room and get rid of all the junk I have accumulated over the years.
  8. See all of my St. Mikes friends.
  9. Go camping and hiking. Explore the world.
  10. Grilling and campfires! I just love them and I want them to be a common theme to my summer.

What a weird list. Well Im going to start packing up my room. Last night with the roomies. God Im going to miss them.

Love, Lynne
